While initially disliking the movie's violence and nudity she came to accept the feminist nature of the plot and the strong character. Butler played Jennifer Hills who, following being severely attacked in a forest cabin and gang raped seeks vengeance on the perpetrators. Steven R. Monroe helmed the film, which came out on October 8th October, 2010. Butler began shooting the psychological thriller The Stranger Within alongside Estella Warren and William Baldwin in Mallorca Spain in November 2011. In addition to New York City and Copenhagen, the film was scheduled for shooting in Copenhagen Denmark. She also joined the cast of Treachery in which she starred Michael Biehn. The independent feature film started filming in Los Angeles in early 2012. Butler starred in the 2013 horror film The Demented with Michael Welch as well as Kayla Ewell.
